A Soddy Daisy man’s car and carport went up in flames on Friday afternoon.

It happened around 3:20 p.m. on Jenkins Circle off Thatcher Road.

Hamilton County EMS spokesperson Amy Maxwell says the victim’s car caught on fire and spread to the carport.

Members of the Sequoyah Volunteer Fire Department and Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department were able to quickly get the blaze under control to prevent any additional heat damage to the man’s home.

No one was injured.

The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.

The fire caused about $15,000 in damages.
