Two separate emergencies at the exact same location kept Chattanooga firefighters busy Friday morning.

"Chattanooga firefighters assigned to Station 6 on Bonny Oaks Drive found themselves in an usual situation today on Chickamauga Dam, and that's saying something for firefighters," a CFD spokesperson said.

Around 11:00 am, firefighters were called to a "wreck with injuries" on the Chickamauga Dam. When they arrived, they learned there had not been a wreck, but a driver had pulled over on the bridge because he was having a medical emergency.

Firefighters helped the man and loaded him into an ambulance.

Just after they closed the back door of the ambulance, a truck that was on fire drove up, a CFD spokesperson said.

The Ford F-150 pickup truck was pulling a trailer loaded with firewood. Firefighters said the driver drove the truck up and parked beside the ambulance.

Firefighters were able to quickly put their gear on and pull a hand-held hose line to put the blaze out.

"Captain Rose said the fire was contained to the engine compartment and cab," a CFD spokesperson said.

No one was injured, and the ambulance did not suffer any damage.

The ambulance then took the man with the medical emergency to an area hospital, and TDOT pulled the truck and trailer off the dam.
