Former Grace Baptist Academy coach indicted for having sexual relations with minor
A former Grace Baptist Academy assistant football coach has been indicted for having sexual relations with a minor.
James Everett Barker, Jr., 30, was indicted on three counts:
- Exploitation of a minor by electronic means
- Sexual battery by an authority figure
- Sexual contact by an authority figure
The indictment says that Everett is accused of engaging in sexual contact with a minor last year between October 28-November 12.
The school said Barker was fired last fall. He worked with the football team for several seasons and did some "support staff work," a school spokesperson explained.
Barker is due back in court on March 29.
