A game that would have the two towns buzzing if it were on the gridiron, but on the diamond this one features two squads looking to prove themselves.

Whitwell and Red Bank are both coming off below .500 seasons in 2018. They met Wednesday afternoon at Red Bank early in the 2019 season.

The Tigers went up by as many as four heading into the bottom of the fifth, but the Lions got two runs back to keep it within two.

The final two innings would be Red Bank's demise as Whitwell plates eight runs to get out of the Lions Den with a 15-5 victory.

The Tigers go on the road to play Cumberland County on Thursday. Red Bank has a big district game with Howard on Monday.
