Family of Chattanooga police officer killed in hit-and-run files $10-million lawsuit
The family of a Chattanooga police officer who was killed in a hit and run is suing the driver.
Barry and Gretchen Galinger are the parents of Chattanooga Police Officer Nicholas Galinger.
Janet Hinds is accused of hitting Galinger with her car last month and fleeing the scene.
The lawsuit claims Hinds was intoxicated while driving; however, she has not been charged with DUI.
The lawsuit also alleges Hinds was speeding and negligent.
The family is asking for $10-million for compensatory and punitive damages.
