The Hamilton County Water and Wastewater Treatment Authority (WWTA) is warning Ooltewah residents of a scammer going door-to-door.

A person saying they are with WWTA is trying to go into homes in the Snow Hill area, a WWTA spokesperson said.

The WWTA wants residents to know three important things:

  1. The WWTA never asks customers to allow them to come into homes.
  2. Vehicles and uniforms of the WWTA are clearly marked.
  3. All WWTA employees have official Hamilton County photo identification badges that are clearly displayed.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office has been notified of the situation.
