It was the middle of the day, last month when our bad guy cruised through an East Brainerd neighborhood. "What's crazy about it is the victim was at home when this incident occurred," explained Chattanooga Police Sgt. Victor Miller. "He drives by the residence, he spots some items inside the residence that he wants to get. He turns around, he comes back, and breaks into the residence."

While all of this was going on, the homeowner was in the back yard, letting the dogs out. "You know, he didn't have any weapons, he didn't use any force against her or anything like that," said Miller. "He was in and out very quickly. He saw the items he wanted, went into the residence got it. He was quickly out before she even knew anything happened."

There are at least a couple of lessons to be learned here. First, the bad guys do not only strike at night.. They are always looking for an opportunity. "And it's great to have a video at your residence, also at your business, because we are able to use these in order to identify who broke into this house," Miller added. "In the video, you should be able to identify who the suspect is, if you know who is."

Investigators say he appears to be a white male with a slender build, perhaps in his early 20s. What he is driving could ring a bell, as well. "If you see the suspect vehicle, in the video it looks like it might have some damage, also," Sgt. Miller said. "It's an older model Tahoe or Suburban. That may stand out."

You do not have know him personally or even know his name, for that matter. Maybe you have seen someone who favors this guy matched with a vehicle like this. We want to hear from you, too. "And that's the great thing about Crime Stoppers," said Miller. "We're able to put this out to multiple people that will probably know who the suspect is and they'll have a chance at getting a cash reward."

Up to $1,000 is on the table. If you have information and could really use our cash, but you are afraid this guy will find out you helped police, do not worry. We will never ask your name. He will only know if you decide to tell him.
