UPDATE: A grand jury has indicted a man for a homicide in March of this year on Hunt Avenue.

Court records show 42-year-old Luke Jackson, Jr. has been indicted on one count of First Degree Premeditated Murder in connection to the death of 47-year-old Starlin Fike.

Police say Fike’s body was found behind a home in the 200 block of Hunt Avenue on March 10.

Police say Fike’s cause of death was ruled a homicide the next day based on CPD’s investigation and a discussion with the medical examiner.

Jackson is being held on bond at the Hamilton County Jail.

He is scheduled to appear in court on July 10.

PREVIOUS STORY: Chattanooga police have charged a man with homicide in connection to a death investigation over the weekend.

It happened shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Sunday in the 200 block of Hunt Avenue.

Police say officers arrived at the scene to find the victim, 47-year-old Starlin Fike, unresponsive behind a home.

Fike was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the victim’s death was ruled a homicide on Monday, following an investigation by CPD’s Violent Crimes Unit and a discussion with the Hamilton County Medical Examiner.

CPD Violent Crimes investigators arrested 41-year-old Luke Jackson for the death of Fike.

Jackson is charged with criminal homicide and is being held at the Hamilton County Jail.
