GBI arrests former Murray Co. detention officer for rape
A former Murray County detention officer has been arrested and charged after allegations that he raped a woman.
Kirk Martin was arrested and charged Friday after the Georgia Breau of Investigation looked into allegations that Martin sexually assaulted a woman.
The 28-year-old former detention officer sexually assaulted and held a woman against her will.
According to a press release from the GBI, Martin held the woman from the afternoon of March 7 to the early hours of March 8.
Martin is being charged with Rape, Aggravated Sexual Battery, Aggravated Assault (Family Violence), Criminal Attempt to Commit Sodomy, False Imprisonment, and Obstructing/Hindering Emergency Call.
Martin is being held at the Rabun County Jail.
This is an on-going investigation.
