The Bradley Central Bearettes were back in the state championship game for the first time since 1995. They got a chance to avenge their 2018 state semifinal loss to Houston as the Lady Mustangs awaited them in the TSSAA Class AAA title game.

A back-and-forth first quarter turned into a run by Bradley Central in the second courtesy of the Bearettes Jamaryn Blair. Blair had 14 first half points, giving Bradley Central a 29-20 halftime lead.

That lead would be extended to as many as 12 in the third quarter, but the Lady Mustangs began to chip away. Led by Mississippi State commit Jayla Hemingway, Houston stormed back to take the lead.

Down five in the games final minutes, the Bearettes relied on their defense and clutch free throws to pull within one.

A turnover by the Lady Mustangs gave Bradley Central the ball, down one, with 11 seconds to go.

Blair hit a wide open Hannah Lombard who drained a 3-pointer with 1.2 seconds to go to put the Bearettes up for good.

Bradley Central captures their sixth state championship 46-44 over Houston. It's the Bearettes first state title since 1976.

Blair was named the championship game MVP leading all scorers with 25 points.
