A police chase was caught on camera ending near the Monroe and McMinn County lines late Tuesday night.
The driver, 24-year old Aranda Fidencio, is facing numerous charges including:
- Reckless Driving
- Reckless Endangerment (x2)
- Felony Evading
- Driving on Revoked
- Failure to maintain lane
- No Insurance
- No Seat belt
- No registration
- Theft of vehicle
- Resisting Arrest
The arrest scared one man, who wished to remain anonymous, who recorded the video.
"Kind of in shock, I mean you hear all the sirens and hear someone screaming, and you don't really know what to do, and you automatically want to grab your camera."
The chase ended at a Motel 6 off of I-75 headed towards Knoxville.
This is where we see on video Fidencio being handcuffed by law enforcement.
A Tennessee Highway Patrol spokesperson says a trooper was monitoring traffic when Fidencio was clocked traveling more than 100 mph north on I-75 in McMinn County near mile marker 39.
He was stopped near exit 60 after the THP threw spike strips across the road disabling the vehicle.
The witness says he shot the video fearing for the man's safety.
“If you're a passerby and seeing this stuff, make sure you stay clear of it and let them do their job, but also make sure you're videoing because there are two-three sides to every story.”
Fidencio is being held at the McMinn County Jail on a $32,000 bond.
He also had prior warrants in Monroe County for theft.
Agencies involved in the apprehension of Fidencio included the McMinn County Sheriff's Office, Monroe County Sheriff's Office., Loudon County Sheriff's Office, Sweetwater Police Department and the Athens Police Department.
