UPDATE: HCSO identifies man killed in Monday night crash on Dayton Pike
UPDATE: The man killed in a crash Monday night on Dayton Pike has been identified.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said Don L. Holmes, 78, lost his life in the head-on collision.
The crash happened shortly before 9:15 pm in 16000 block of Dayton Pike.
Hamilton County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Matt Lea says the driver of a silver Ford F-150 was traveling south and crossed the center line, hitting a white Ford F-150 head-on.
Holmes was behind the wheel of the white F-150. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger of the white pickup was flown to a hospital by Life Force. The passenger's condition is unknown.
Lea says the driver and passenger of the silver F-150 were taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Their conditions are unknown.
The crash remains under investigation.
ORIGINAL STORY: A crash involving at least two vehicles is causing some delays on Highway 27 in Sale Creek on Monday night.
It happened shortly before 9:15 p.m. near Coulterville Road.
A 911 dispatcher says no lanes have officially been closed but the wreck is affecting the flow of traffic.
According to the Hamilton County 911 call log, entrapment was reported.
The condition of the people involved is unknown.
