Rushing water covered mailboxes, flooded homes and swept away cars in one Spring City neighborhood.

Gene Street and Murray Avenue near the Piney River both experienced significant flooding.

First responders came by the neighborhood to help people evacuate the flooded area.

One neighbor who has lived in the area for years said she has never seen this kind of flooding before in her life and is thankful no one was seriously hurt.

"It's been scary," Beverly Gillespie said. "I saw the neighbors lose a car. One neighbor lost his chickens. I saw doghouses and all kinds of garbage cans, mailboxes and everything. We were asleep when it all started, but so far we haven't saw anyone get hurt. thank god."
