Erlanger patients can now access health records on their iPhones
Erlanger patients can now access their health records using their iPhones.
"Erlanger Health System supports Health Records on iPhone, bringing together hospitals, clinics and the existing Apple Health App to make it easy for patients to see their available medical data from multiple providers whenever they choose," a health system spokesperson explained.
Patients will now be able to access their immunizations, allergies, conditions, lab results, medications, procedures and vitals all on their phones.
They can also receive notifications when their data is updated.
“As a family medicine physician who treats patients with multiple conditions, I may not always have access to those records if patients see specialists outside of Erlanger,” Dr. Stephen Adams said. “Now, all the patient has to do is show me the records on the app or share them with me to add in Erlanger’s electronic medical records.”
For a patient to download their records, they simply have to open the Apple Health app, choose Health Data, tap on Health Records and select Erlanger. Then they can sign in using their Erlanger MyCHART account username and password.
“We are excited to provide patients with access to their health records data, so they can have the information they need at their fingertips,” said Matt Gibson, Erlanger’s Chief Strategy Officer. “This app will not only help our patients with storing the information in one location but also our physicians and medical staff in providing the best medical care possible.”
Hospital physicians want patients to know that the app is not a diagnostic tool. It just makes it easier for the hospital to collect data for patients and get information to their doctors.
