Cloudy with isolated showers and a potential record breaking warm high
Today's highs will be in the upper 60s to 70. The record for today in Chattanooga is 70, so we may break or tie the record. There will be very isolated, light showers throughout the day with the best chances for our northern counties. Temperatures will be mild overnight with lows in the low 60s.
Then for Thursday, there will be isolated, light showers during the morning hours, drying out during the day. There may be a few breaks in the clouds in the afternoon before a cold front arrives Thursday night into Friday morning. Highs on Thursday will be very warm in the mid-70s, likely breaking the daily record.
The cold front will bring rain overnight, starting late Thursday night for our western counties and then early Friday morning for our eastern counties. The rain should be done by about 9AM. Then, cloud cover will be decreasing during the rest of the day as temperatures cool significantly. The midday high will be in the mid to upper 40s.
The weekend will be cooler with highs in the upper 40s on both Saturday and Sunday with partly sunny skies.
Cloudy skies return on Monday and Tuesday with increased rain chances again and mild temperatures.
