Chattanooga officer resigns before Disciplinary Review Hearing
A Chattanooga police officer who was under an internal affairs investigation has resigned from his job.
Police department spokesperson Elisa Myzal says Officer Desmond Logan was scheduled for a Disciplinary Review Hearing on Thursday at 9:00 am but resigned just minutes before the hearing started.
Myzal says before Logan resigned, he was facing allegations of untruthfulness and improper procedure.
Myzal says the Chattanooga Police Department will be requesting decertification from the Tennessee Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) Commission for Logan.
Logan is under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office over allegations of sexual misconduct.
Logan has not been criminally charged.
