WATCH: Firefighters put out brushfires on I-75 South in Catoosa Co., cause unknown
Firefighters in Catoosa County responded to brushfires along I-75 South on Tuesday night.
Our crew at the scene said the brushfires could be seen on the shoulder of the interstate at the Tennessee/Georgia state line and just before the Battlefield Parkway Exit at mile marker 350.
A 911 dispatcher said crews have put out the fires.
Catoosa County Assistant Fire Chief Steve Quinn said the cause of the fire will likely remain undetermined.
Chief Quinn said the cold temperatures and wind can dry out grass and vegetation, creating conditions for brushfires.
All lanes on the southbound side were not affected.
