McKamey Animal Center took to Facebook today to warn pet owners of the dangerously cold temperatures.

While pets should be brought inside, the center warns that it is required by Tennessee laws that pets should have a protective shelter of some sort when not inside.

Bedding, unfrozen water and plenty of food should also be provided to outdoor pets.

If you believe a pet does not have required shelter provided, contact your local authorities or McKamey Animal Services at (423) 305-6500.

McKamey officers are on duty 24/7 for emergencies.
