If you consider yourself a shutterbug and you use an iPhone, your photo could be worth some money.

Apple is currently accepting submissions for its annual "ShotoniPhone" photo contest and this year Apple will pay the winners.

Up until this year, the winning photos were only used in Apple's marketing efforts such as billboards, TV commercials and in-store displays. The photographers won bragging rights. It didn't seem fair and after complaints, Apple gave in and will pay the top-ten winners. It doesn't specify how much the photographers will win, but according to contest guidelines, Apple states winners "will receive a licensing fee for use of such photos on billboards and other Apple marketing channels."

Even if you submit a photo and it doesn't win anything, you're also granting Apple a royalty-free, irrevocable rights to modify, publish, display, distribute, create derivative works and reproduce the photo for its various channels.

Apple is accepting submissions through February 7th. To enter, photographers must upload the photos to Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #shotoniphone, the submission can also be emailed to Apple. For more information on the contest, you can visit Apple's contest page.

As of Monday morning, over 6.3 million photos had been submitted on Instagram. Apple will announce the 10 winners in February.
