UPDATE: ROCKMART, Ga. (AP) — Federal authorities have arrested a man wanted in the slayings of four people and injuring of a man in a pair of shootings in Georgia.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said 27-year-old Daylon Delon Gamble was arrested Sunday in Indiana by the U.S. Marshal’s Service. Gamble, who was wanted on four charges of murder in the shootings Thursday night in Rockmart, about 45 miles (72 kilometers) northwest of Atlanta, was taken into custody without incident, according to GBI news release posted on their Facebook page .

No additional information was available.

Authorities said 48-year-old Helen Rose Mitchell and 19-year-old Jaequnn Davis died at one home, and 24-year-old Arkeyla Perry and 26-year-old Dadrian Cummings died at another home.

The GBI says 24-year-old Peerless Brown was injured at the home where Mitchell and Davis were killed.



PREVIOUS STORY:  The GBI has released suspect information in connection to the shooting in Polk County, Georgia Thursday night. 

They are looking for Daylon Delon Gamble, 27.

 According to the GBI report, Thursday night around 8 o'clock Polk County dispatch reported two separate double homicides at two separate addresses. 

Gamble also shot a fifth victim who was taken to the hospital, his condition is unknown. 

Gamble is considered armed and dangerous. 


POLK COUNTY, Ga. — Four people have been killed and one in the hospital after an apparent shooting in north Georgia.

The shooting was confirmed by the Polk County Sheriff's Office Thursday night in the area of Williamson and Gordon streets. There are apparently two different scenes.

The sheriff's office originally reported six people shot but have later corrected that information after learning one was the uninjured relative of the surviving victim who had blood on him.

Police are still searching for the suspect and believe the incident was in some way related to drugs.

Three regional offices with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation have been called to the scene to assist in the investigation. The agency is asking anyone with information about this incident to call police immediately.
