UPDATE: A TBI Top Ten Most Wanted suspect who was arrested in Florida for the death of a Hixson woman is now in the Hamilton County Jail.

According to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office booking report, 31-year-old Kameron Leslie was booked on May 4.

Leslie was wanted for First Degree Murder in connection to the death of 30-year-old Taja Whiteside on January 11.

Whiteside's body was found in a home in the 5800 block of Moody Sawyer Road.

The TBI received information that Leslie could be in the Jacksonville, Florida area, where he was ultimately arrested on May 1.

Leslie is charged with First Degree Premeditated Murder. His bond is set at $650,000, according to the HCSO's website.

Leslie is scheduled to appear in court on May 10.

Police say 30-year-old Kameron Leslie is wanted for a homicide that happened January 11, in the 5800 block of Moody Sawyer Road.

Police found the victim, 30-year-old Taja Whiteside, inside a home and unresponsive. Whiteside was pronounced dead at the scene and her death was ruled a homicide on January 17, by the Medical Examiner.

Leslie is described as a black male who is 6-feet tall and weighs about 175 pounds.

ORIGINAL STORY: Chattanooga police say a woman’s death in Hixson last week has been ruled a homicide.

Police responded to a home on Moody Sawyer Road shortly before noon on January 11.

Police found 30-year-old Taja Whiteside inside the home and unresponsive.

Hamilton County EMS pronounced Whiteside dead at the scene.

A CPD spokesperson says the cause of Whiteside’s death was initially unclear and ruled a homicide by the Medical Examiner on January 17.

The Chattanooga Police Department is asking anyone with information about this case to call the Homicide Tip Line at 423-643-5100.
