Police: Men break into Memphis elementary school, eat French toast, steal ham and walkie talkies
Two men are behind bars after breaking into an elementary school early Friday morning and stealing school property, police say.
Officers responded to a burglary call at KIPP Elementary at about 4:14 a.m.
Once police entered the school, they found Trevor Burnett and Eric Bates in room 140.
After taking both into custody, police discovered Burnett had a block of frozen ham stolen from the school in his jacket pocket. They also found two in a backpack that belonged to the school.
After they were taken to the police station, Bates confessed he and Burnett broke into the school and ate french toast sticks inside the cafeteria.
