A freshman at Sequatchie County High School was arrested Monday and charged with Carrying a Weapon on School Property.

The school system notified the Student Resource Officer of the High School who identified the juvenile student. The SRO notified detectives who assisted in the investigation.

During the investigation detectives conducted several interviews. The juvenile was found to be in possession of a Taurus .380 pistol which was unloaded at the time with no ammo found. The weapon was found on the student.

The investigation was conducted by the Sequatchie County Sheriff's Department, Dunlap Police Department, and the Sequatchie County School System.
