ABBEVILLE, Ala. (AP) - No injuries are being reported after a possible tornado struck southeast Alabama.

Henry County's emergency management director, Ronnie Dollar, says a rural area just outside Abbeville was under a tornado warning about 4:30 a.m. Friday when violent winds whipped through.

Dollar says an 18-wheeler flipped over on a road and shingles were ripped off several homes, but no one was hurt.

Weather service experts have yet to visit the site. But Dollar says the damage probably was caused by a small tornado based on his experience.

Abbeville is located about 100 miles (161 kilometers) southeast of Montgomery, near the Georgia state line.
