How to stay motivated to complete your goals this New Year
The New Year is in full swing, and people are ready to achieve their goals.
One of the most common goals is to lose weight.
So, Channel 3 wants to introduce you to a woman who turned her goal into a new lifestyle.
Fifteen years ago, Donna Elle, like many others, set a goal to lose weight.
She had a plan of attack.
It was to achieve her goals little by little until she got to where she wanted to be.
“I lost 10 pounds, and I wanted to see if I can maintain it,” Elle said. “Then I lost 20 pounds and had to see if I can maintain it.”
Elle lost 100 pounds and went from a size 24 to a size 12.
She encourages everyone who has a goal to have a strong support system.
She said that's what helps her accomplish her dreams.
“When I first lost the weight, everybody asked me how long did it take you,” Elle explained. “I said it takes me a lifetime; this is something I have to keep doing.”
Now, Elle continues that same goal by empowering others through her program Donna's Divas.
She trains women of all ages to achieve their fitness goals.
“When you feel like there's doubt, you want to give up, when you're tired, sore from working out, you just keep showing up,” Elle added. “Keep coming back because every time you do you're just going to keep getting better.”
Up and down the field, Elle pushes her clients through the workout to their level of success.
She also teaches people the importance of having a meal plan.
And if your fitness plan includes the latest trend, Elle says fad diets are not the way to go.
“My motto is moderation, not illumination. I take each day as it comes,” Elle said. “Even though I might have valleys, I know that eventually, I will get out of that.”
Elle said no matter what your goal is, accept where you are and keep working hard.
