This catfish thought it was off the hook! At least it thought so, until Paula Cathey Smith reeled in this hefty 88-pound fish from Kentucky Lake on Monday.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency shared on Facebook and Twitter a picture of the Smith holding up the fish. Many folks commenting on the posts have made a few jokes about bringing the catfish to a Nashville Predators game.

The TWRA said Smith thinks this catch was a "personal best" for the winter season. However, the catfish doesn't break a Kentucky state record for largest fish.

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources website shows the largest blue catfish caught was 104 pounds caught by Bruce W. Midkiff from the Ohio River near the Cannelton Dam Tailwaters on August 28, 1999.

The large catfish was safely released back into the lake, after a few well-deserved photos of course.
