PREVIOUS UPDATE: Channel 3 is learning more about a Chattanooga man charged in a Christmas Day homicide.
Around 3:00 pm, Chattanooga police officers responded to a person shot call in the 7700 block of Wimberly Drive.
When they arrived, officers found Kevin Daniel suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to court documents.
Daniel was taken to an area hospital where he passed away.
A CPD investigator said after conducting several interviews, they learned the suspect arrived and left in a newer model grey Camaro.
The vehicle was later stopped by a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper. The two people inside the vehicle were interviewed by police. One of them told officers his family member, Gregory Scott Martin Jr., to Wimberly Drive to fight with Daniel over a "personal dispute," court documents explained.
Martin Jr.'s relative told the officer that when they arrived, Daniel came outside, brandished a gun and placed it on the trunk of the Camaro.
Daniel and Martin Jr. then started arguing. Martin Jr.'s relative said during the argument, Daniel turned his back to get his gun, and Martin Jr. shot him.
Martin Jr.'s relative said Daniel was unarmed when he was shot, according to court documents.
Martin Jr. was taken into custody and charged with criminal homicide.
He is scheduled to be in court on January 15.

Seeing crime scene tape and hearing sirens outside his home wasn't the sound he wanted to hear on Christmas Day.
"It was scary and everything and stuff, because I thought it was somebody out playing with fireworks and everything when I heard the shots,” one neighbor said.
Seeing Daniel’s loved ones holding him is what made this even harder to process.
"She was trying to comfort him and everything while he was laying on the ground. It looked like she was trying to pick him up and stand him on his feet. But she couldn't get him up.” he said.
Police have arrested Gregory Martin for the shooting. He is charged with criminal homicide.
Though he is concerned for his neighbor’s safety, the neighbor we spoke to believes they will come together in this trying time.
"This is a nice neighborhood and everything. The people around here are really good to you. They're like family,” he said.
It's not clear if Martin and Daniels knew each other.
Martin is due in court on January 2.
Police say they will release more information in the coming days.
