Providence Ministries serves meals to families in need
To ring in the holiday, Providence Ministries in Dalton, Georgia will open its doors to hundreds of families in need for a hot Christmas meal and a shopping spree in the giant toy shop.
This annual event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the ministry off South Hamilton Street.
Providence Ministries has been helping families during the holidays for the last 20 years.
Founder and President, Rev. Roy Johnson, says they expect to give out 1,500 Christmas meals and take hundreds of children through the Santa Shop, giving away more than 6,000 toys.
