We are entering a dry period for Monday through Wednesday. Starting the day today with partly cloudy skies, but clouds will continue to decrease through the morning hours for a mostly sunny afternoon. Highs will be in the mid to upper 40s, and with abundant sunshine, it will be a good day for last minute shopping, traveling, or outdoor activities. Overnight, temperatures will likely drop below freezing with lows in the upper 20s to 30.

Christmas on Tuesday will have a few more clouds than Monday. It will be partly cloudy with broken cloud cover and sunshine. High temperatures will be in the upper 40s to 50 with a very isolated chance for a shower (10%), but most of us will be dry for Christmas.

Wednesday will have more clouds as a partly sunny day with warmer temperatures in the mid-50s. There will also be a 10% chance for an isolated shower. Then, it will become mostly cloudy by night as a frontal system approaches our area with lows in the mid-40s.

Rain returns on Thursday and Friday. Showers should begin Thursday morning around 7AM. The heaviest rain will be Thursday evening/night into early Friday morning with the potential of a few thunderstorms during this time. High temperatures will be mild both days, upper 50s on Thursday and mid-60s on Friday. Then a scattered chance for showers mainly south of Chattanooga on Saturday, followed by another round of scattered showers on Sunday.
