Man accused of murdering his grandmother shot, killed inside Toledo police headquarters
TOLEDO, Ohio (WNWO) — A Michigan man, accused of killing his grandmother, was shot and killed during a struggle with police inside a jail.
Detectives are investigating the shooting that happened inside Toledo Police headquarters Thursday afternoon.
At about 12:30 p.m., 23-year-old Damon Barstad, of Warren, Michigan, charged officers as they opened the jail cell he was being held in.
During the struggle, Barstad was shot once by a Toledo Police officer and died at the scene.
