CPD urging drivers to not get behind the wheel impaired
Don't drink and drive this holiday season.
The Chattanooga Police Department is going to increase impaired and distracted driving enforcement beginning Thursday night at 6:00 pm.
"CPD, along with other area law enforcement agencies, are urging community members and visitors to the area to be responsible when consuming alcohol during this holiday season," a department spokesperson said.
If you are too impaired to drive, CPD suggests calling a taxi, Uber, Lyft or designated driver.
In the first 11 months of the year, CPD made 758 DUI arrests.
CPD will have increased enforcement through 6:00 am on January 2, 2019.
