Good Morning Tennessee Valley,

We'll be waking up to patchy fog this morning, although it won't be as widely developing or as dense! Temperatures are also a few degrees colder than Monday morning, some areas north of Chattanooga will need to scrape their vehicles from frost on windshields, including Spring City and Athens. I don't see that being the case for most in the valley as temperatures should stay just above freezing.

It looks like another really nice day as temperatures reach the mid to upper 50s under a mostly sunny sky. Expect a few more clouds this evening and tonight. Temperatures by Wednesday morning should be 2-5 degrees higher in the mid 30s.

There is a change to the forecast for the end of the week. While, rain will still be increasing by Thursday, on Friday colder air will be moving in at upper levels. This could bring a rain/snow mix now during the day on Friday, mainly on the plateau, and with little to no accumulation, but something that may cause a headache on Friday morning and Friday evening. Forecast data is suggesting a mix possible on Friday morning after 2AM-4AM developing and continuing through Friday evening. It also appears that areas such as Polk, Monroe, eastern McMinn, TN, Cherokee, NC, and Fannin/Gilmer GA counties could see a mix during this time as well.

Temperatures by Friday night look to dip to near 32 in the valley. With colder temperatures in the higher elevations, we will need to watch for slick conditions on Saturday morning. The silver lining here is this comes at the end of the week, with no school on Saturday. Please check back as new data comes in this week!
