UPDATE: 3.0 earthquake occurs near Knoxville
A magnitude 3.0 earthquake has been recorded in Mascot late Saturday night.
The quake occurred near 11:12 PM and had a depth of 22.4 kilometers, or 14 miles.

The epicenter was recorded at east Knox County near the Jefferson County line.
Witnesses in the cities of Mascot, Blaine, and South Knoxville reported hearing a rumbling like thunder.
