UPDATE: Cause, source of fuel spill on Geminus Dr. being investigated
UPDATE: A An environmental cleanup company was called in to help after a fuel spill Saturday morning.
Around 4:00 am, the Chattanooga Fire Department was called to a HAZMAT incident in the 4300 block of Jersey Pike.
The spill occurred on Geminus Drive and fuel spilled onto the property of Metro Lawn Care at 4977 Geminus Drive and at Eagle Transportation LLC at 4311 Jersey Pike, CFD spokesperson Bruce Garner explained.
"A captain with CFD Special Operations said the spill caused minimal environmental impact because it was contained," Garner added.
The city's stormwater division and the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation are monitoring the cleanup.
No one was injured, and traffic was not impacted by the spill.
Garner added that the public is not in any danger.
The cause and source of the spill are currently unknown, as is the amount of fuel that spilled.
