Temperatures will be cooler tonight than last night, dropping through the 40s this evening. Overnight lows will be in the low 40s in the city with surrounding areas dropping into the upper 30s with partly cloudy skies.

Overall, Sunday will be drier, but mostly cloudy skies will remain. A few isolated showers (10%) are possible in the morning across the area, and then a little residual moisture will bring the potential for isolated light showers in the afternoon for the higher elevations, especially in the far eastern mountains in Monroe, Polk, Cherokee, and Fannin Counties. All showers will be light and isolated, so the majority of people will be dry for Sunday. Cloud cover will slowly diminish during the day, allowing for a few breaks with sunshine. Highs will be from 51-54 across the area with overnight lows in the mid-30s.

Monday will bring a return to more sunshine with a few clouds and highs in the mid-50s. Tuesday and Wednesday will be partly sunny with cloud cover increasing again and highs in the mid-50s. Wednesday should be the warmest day of the week. Rain showers will return on Thursday and Friday with cooler temperatures moving in on Friday with highs in the mid-40s.
