NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Police in Tennessee are searching for a man accused of stealing a car that had two children inside of it.

News outlets report the children, age 8 and 12, weren't injured in the Friday morning theft. Metro Nashville police say a woman drove to a Hermitage gas station early that morning and left the children in the car with the keys while she went inside.

Police say a man then got into the car and started it. They say the 12-year-old jumped out of the vehicle before it fled the gas station, but the 8-year-old was still inside the car.

Police say 911 received a report minutes later about a car that had been abandoned in the middle of a road. They say officers arrived and found the 8-year-old unharmed.
