UPDATE: CPD sergeant arrested for solicitation of prostitution resigns
UPDATE: Sgt. Peter Turk resigned from the Chattanooga Police Department Tuesday.
PREVIOUS STORY: An internal affairs investigation is underway after a Chattanooga Police sergeant was taken into custody for solicitation of prostitution.
Peter Turk is on administrative leave. This was the result of a joint enforcement operation between the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Chattanooga Police Department's Vice Unit.
The sergeant was off duty and not part of the enforcement operations.
Chattanooga police said, "the TBI will be seeking an indictment as a result of this criminal investigation."
The TBI's case is separate from CPD's Internal Affairs investigation.
Turk has been with the police department since 2004.
