GODT crews will begin sealing cracks on US-27 (aka SR-1) in Catoosa County Wednesday.

Seasonal temperature changes expand and contract the pavement, which allows water to enter. This can make a small crack widen over time.

The work will start Wednesday, Dec. 12 and run through Friday, starting at 7:30am and concluding at 5:30pm each day, weather permitting, according to a news release.

Crews will seal the cracks with a flexible rubberized asphalt that bonds to the crack walls and moves with the pavement to prevent water intrusion.
