UPDATE: The Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) says an educator was fired from a local daycare for biting a child.

State records show this year alone, there have been five complaints filed against Child Care Network on Gunbarrel Road.

Back in June, another employee was terminated for leaving a two-year-old unsupervised.

The Stroud family says they are not surprised. Their daughter Eradesa is now in Kindergarten and recently left the daycare.

Scott and Sarah Stroud have taken their daughter to Child Care Network for five years and say the daycare center has great employees, but the turnover rate impacts the quality of service.

Sarah Stroud said, “Unfortunately they were not what I would have hoped to be available for my daughter because it was a revolving door outside a core of three or four people."

The Tennessee Department of Safety released the following statement:

“The Childcare Network at 1602 Gunbarrel in Chattanooga remains under a safety plan that excludes the educator in question from being on the property. That educator was fired following the incident and the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services is still investigating it.”

Sky Arnold with the department says the safety plan has already been initiated.

"These orders might prohibit a specific educator with the history of problems for example from being on the property or require that educator to be supervised at all times. When a safety plan is in effect the department will conduct unannounced visits to make sure the safety plan is being followed,” said Arnold.

Arnold and the Stroud’s say it’s a good reminder to parents searching for childcare.

The Tennessee Department of Children's Services is still investigating the employee accused of biting a child.

Channel 3 tried multiple times to reach the center and its corporate office Friday for comment, but have not heard back.
