The Tennessee Department of Transportation will be closing a portion if I-24 West in Marion County on Thursday morning to address a rockfall hazard.

TDOT spokesperson Jennifer Flynn says the fast and middle lanes of I-24 West around mile marker 136 near Monteagle will close at 10:00 am EST.

The lanes will remain closed until the repairs are finished and the slope is stabilized.

The slow lane and shoulder will be open to westbound traffic until the work is done.

TDOT has not said when crews are expected to finish the repairs.
