Coldest air of the season settling in
Good Tuesday. Fire up the seat warmers in your car. The coldest air so far this fall is moving in. We are in the low 30s this morning and will only make it to the mid to upper 30s this afternoon. It may not even make it out of the upper 20s on the Cumberland Plateau. Skies will clear through the day and it will be a little breezy so expect a bite to the air.
Tonight will be one in which you'll want to take care of the pets, plants, and pipes. Many folks will experience hard freeze conditions in which temps drop below 25 degrees for more than 4 hours. In Chattanooga, we will drop to the low 20s by Wednesday morning, but most folks will make it into the 10s.
Wednesday afternoon will remain chilly in the low 40s with a few late day clouds building in.
Thursday we will warm a little with temps ranging from 31 in the morning to upper 40s in the afternoon. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a slight chance for a late day shower.
Friday temps will be mild. We will start in the mid 40s, and wind up in the upper 50s Friday afternoon. Again we will have plenty of clouds, but only a slight chance for a shower or two as a front stalls to our west and maybe spits one or two showers our way.
The front will move through Saturday bringing widespread rain through the day. Temps will remain mild. The morning will start in the low 50s with a whopping high of 63.
We will keep the warm weather in place Sunday with skies clearing out. It should be a great day. Look for more rain on Monday.
