Woman charged in shooting involving Walker County deputies
A Rossville woman has been arrested and charged after misinforming investigators in an officer-involved shooting case.
Madison Michelle Conrad of Rossville, Georgia has been charged with False Statements and Hindering Apprehension of a Criminal in a November 20 shooting involving two Walker County deputies.
Allegedly, in order to mislead investigators, the 32-year-old told police that the two men involved in the shooting were using Conrad's car.
One of the men, Robert Eric Owenby, was arrested and charged last Wednesday on two counts of Aggravated Assault.
Owenby shot at two deputies as they conducted a traffic stop off Raydine Lane in Rossville November 20. He was later found hiding in a residence on E. Sherry Drive in Rossville, where he was captured without incident.
The second man who was a passenger in the vehicle Owenby was driving was determined to not have had intentional involvement in the crime.
Conrad was booked at the Walker County Jail on November 21. She was later released on a $10,000 bond and is expected to appear in Walker County Superior Court at a later date.
