A man reported missing on Aetna Mountain has been found.

A law enforcement spokesperson said the man in his mid-30s was located around 11:30 am.

Officials with Hamilton County Special Tactics & Rescue Services and the Chattanooga Fire Department explained that the man and his friend were at the top of the mountain when they ran into issues with their ATVs.

The friend went down the mountain to get parts to fix the ATVs, while the man stayed up top.

The friend got disoriented about how to get back up the mountain. Early Saturday morning, he started knocking on doors asking for help. Around 2:30 am, law enforcement authorities got involved with the search.

The man reported missing was able to find a ride down the mountain and was then located by STARS.

Both men are now safe.
