UGA's Kirby Smart sends letter of encouragement to Chatt State softball player battling illness
Gordon Lee Grad and Chattanooga State softball player Mary Kate Pritchett is coming home after more than five weeks at Cincinnati Children's Hospital and she's coming home with new UGA swag courtesy of Georgia Head Football Coach Kirby Smart.
In October Pritchett underwent TPIAT Surgery (total pancreas removal) after a battle with chronic pancreatitis. In short she had three organs and part of her intestines removed.
Pritchett is a lifelong Georgia Bulldogs fan and when UGA Head Football Coach Kirby Smart found out he signed a letter of encouragement and mailed it with a box of Georgia swag.
Pritchett returned home on Tuesday and is continuing to recover. If you'd like to help Mary Kate with her medical expenses you can do so HERE.
