Chattanooga man arrested in Saturday night stabbing
A Chattanooga man is facing multiple charges after he attacked a man with a knife.
Chattanooga police were called to the 2000 block of East 23rd Street around 8:45 pm Saturday.
Police say the suspect, 51-year-old James Taylor, went to the home of a woman he knew, pushed her out of the way to get inside and attacked a man in a bedroom, according to an arrest affidavit.
The man told officers that Taylor had a knife, but he was able to break it off on the headboard.
The victim then tried to get Taylor out of the home, but in the process, Taylor grabbed a steak knife and slashed the side of the man's head, the affidavit said.
The man was taken to an area hospital to be treated for the cut on his head, which was approximately 6 inches long.
Officers were able to find the pocket knife and the broken blade in the home, police said.
Taylor was arrested and faces charges of aggravated assault and especially aggravated burglary.
He is due in court on November 26.
