Good morning/afternoon Tennessee Valley,

Chattanooga officially dropped to 28 this morning, making it the coldest morning so far of the Fall 2018 season. Many of the flood warnings from yesterday have either been allowed to expire, or canceled early. The only flood warning remaining in effect until 5PM is the Armuchee Creek near Armuchee.

We will rebound nicely though by afternoon today thanks to light southwest winds. After 4 consecutive days in the 40s, we'll reach 52-53 this afternoon. Tonight will be cold again near freezing, while I don't see lows in the upper 20s for the valleys, perhaps on the plateaus tonight. Bundle up for the football games, and Ice on the Landing tonight! Temperatures will dip to 48-49 by 6PM. We will need to watch for fog and freezing fog early on Saturday morning thanks to light winds and freezing temperatures. Look for a low tonight of 32.

Sunday brings plenty of sun again with highs in the mid-60s. This trend continues into Monday, although expect more clouds during the day Monday. A front looks to arrive Tuesday of next week, returning highs to the mid 50s. While this will be a dry front for most, a few sprinkles/light showers could develop across Polk and Cherokee counties. That is our only rain chance at this point over the next 7 days, which is great news for holiday travelers next week!
