UPDATE: Body of missing Rossville woman found in woods near her home
UPDATE: A Rossville woman who has been missing since Sunday was found dead on Wednesday morning.
The Walker County Sheriff’s Office says 72-year-old Dora Lee Stratton was found outside of her car at the bottom of a gulley next to Beverly Street near her home.
Detectives think that Stratton, who had several health issues, missed her driveway while coming back from a store on Sunday afternoon.
A release from the sheriff’s office says, “It appears that her automobile continued about 75 yards down the roadway, then left the roadway and came to rest in the woods, approximately 200 feet from the dead-end street.”
Evidence suggests that Mrs. Stratton got out of her car and tried to climb out of the gulley.
Detectives think that Stratton died due to the weather elements or natural causes.
