Sprinkles today. Rain returns by Wednesday afternoon/evening
Good Afternoon Tennessee Valley,
We picked up 0.25" this morning at WRCB. Look for just a few hit and miss sprinkles today, overall it's a dry day though with lots of clouds. There is a Minor Flood Stage for the Coahulla Creek at Keiths Mill until Thursday morning. The creek will rise to just over 17' by Wednesday morning. At this point, minor flooding on pastures and fields begins, along the upstream right and left banks from Keiths Mill Rd Bridge.
Today will be chilly, but a few degrees better in the afternoon, reaching 50, which is 10-13 degrees below normal for November 13th. Tonight temperatures should be 5-10 degrees cooler, in the upper 30s.
Wednesday starts of cold, with a partly to mostly cloudy sky. A light rain begins across Channel 3 counties in north Georgia and north Alabama by 1PM-3PM tomorrow. Light rain looks to begin in Chattanooga by Wednesday evening. While rain will be light at this time, rain showers will be increasing in coverage and intensity overnight. Heavies rainfall looks to occur from 11PM- 6AM Thursday morning. Showers will be lighting up during the day on Thursday. An additional 1" to 2" of rain looks likely at this time from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday Noon.
Just in time for the weekend, it's trending dry. Highs will return Friday to the 50s with sunshine returning too! Temperatures this weekend will feel more like mid-November too. Highs in the upper 50s to near 60 looks likely both Saturday and Sunday.
