Game of the Week: Red Bank repeats history by eliminating Sequatchie County
RED BANK, Tn. - The 2017 Red Bank Lions eliminated Sequatchie County at the Lions Den. Would history repeat itself in the second round this time?
It looked as if it would early when the Lions jumped out to a 14-6 halftime lead behind TD's from Lucas Brown and Lumiere Strickland.
Red Bank star Calvin Jackson would open the scoring in the second half by finding the end zone for the 83rd time in his high school career to give the Lions a 21-6 lead.
Sequatchie County took advantage of a few Red Bank mistakes, including a fumble that set up a touchdown. Collin Hudson would find Trevor Ritchie on 4th down to bring the Indians within eight points.
Red Bank would drain the 4th quarter clock down to less than three minutes when Kyle Smith would nail a 30-yd field goal to put the Lions ahead 24-13.
Sequatchie County would score with eight seconds left, but it was too late. Red Bank eliminates the Indians for the second straight season, 24-21.
The Lions will go on the road to Baxter, TN to play Upperman in the state quarterfinals at 7 p.m.
