After 11 months of renovations, the historic Read House Hotel is ready to show off its new style.

Avocet Hospitality Group, purchased the hotel in August of 2016. The goal was to bring back elements from the 1920s. Guest rooms received a complete overhaul, they now have spacious modern bathrooms, the latest in technology, and new furnishings.

The first phase of the renovation focused on the historic Read House building while the Manor building stayed open. The facelift cost about $25 million and on Tuesday, they'll cut the ribbon at 4 p.m. for the main building.

The Read House is one of the longest continuously operating hotels in the south. It opened its doors in 1872.
